What do we
do????
We are a Canadian production company that
takes unretted flax straw from oilseed flax and extracts the flax
fiber. This fiber is then processed and used for biocomposite and
industrial applications. We are currently using this product in
plastic decking lumber. Many other applications are being
researched.
Currently the majority of oilseed flax
straw grown in Canada is burned after combining in order to get rid
of the fiber. We have a vision of developing an industry around
this flax fiber. This would allow the farmer to value add to his
oil seed flax by giving value to his straw. In addition, this also
will help to prevent pollution by elimanting the need for burning.
In the future we are hoping to develop
enought markets to enable us to utilize the majority of flax starw
grown. We see a bright future for flax fiber and are endeavoring
to open new avenues in the plastics and biocomposite
industries.
